Who is outreach worker?

An outreach worker (streetworker) is social worker whose office is natural environment of his clients – streets, parks, clubs, gambling rooms, railway stations etc. His task is to seek and contact people who need social help and are not willing or able to find the help themselves.

Outreach workers in the Czech Republic work with street children and street youths, drug addicts, homeless, people living in socially excluded areas, prostitutes.

The outreach worker solves large variety of problems such as boredom in free time, problems at school and family, psychological and social problems connected with adolescence, bullying, drug use and crime.
